The word zeolite comes from the Greek words “zeo,” which means to boil, and “litos,” which means stone. These minerals formed inside volcanic rock called basalt. As volcanoes erupted, the lava compressed layers of rocks. Underground water interacted with the rock to form zeolites. What makes zeolites unique is their network of tiny little holes and channels, which can absorb and remove harmful substances such as heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium), ammonia, and other toxins. Some scientists call zeolites “molecular sieves.” These beneficial properties are what make natural (not lab made) zeolites prized for their potential as part of your natural supplement support. Their natural anti-inflammatory and high antioxidant properties only add in additional benefit. It is recommended to always take Zeolite at least 30 minutes away from food, supplements, and/or medications.
